Palestine Red Crescent Maternity Hospital

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Jerusalem is a charitable, non-profit society established in 1951 with the aim of helping the poor and needy, visiting prisoners and caring for their families and establishing hospitals and first-aid posts.

The PRCS Hospital is a specialized hospital for maternity and gynecology. Established in 1953, it is one of the successful projects of this society. Since the establishment of the facility in 1953 to the end of 1999, 84,530 women from Jerusalem and the West Bank were catered to in this 26 bed capacity hospital.

A neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) staffed with qualified doctors and nurses was established in 1997.

The following are provided free of charge 6 days a week at the hospital's outpatient clinics in Jerusalem:

  • maternity
  • gynecology
  • pediatric clinic (includes vaccinations)
  • dentistry services

Also available at the hospital are 24 hour laboratory and X-ray services.
