Faisal Al Husseini Library / Burj Al Laqlaq Community Society
The Foundation established Faisal Al Husseini Library
in Burj Al laqlaq on 31-5-2005, to promote literacy and provide the
community of the old city with the needed references and books.
There’s a teacher who helps students with their homework and gives
extra care to students with weak reading and writing skills, aiming
at reducing drop outs from school and supporting students.
The library doesn’t charge students
Beneficiaries:
Children and youth between 7-18 years
women between 20-35 years
Library’s programs:
- Special events: Puppet shows, story tellers, drama, game days and
more
- Homework Help: Free homework assistance to students in grades 1-10.
Library’s needs:
- Professional staff to direct the children and youth
- Social worker dealing with behavioral and social problems children
and youth suffer from.
- Computers
- TV and VCR, educational programs tapes and CDs, projector, microfilm,
and microfiche.
